What Traveling Means to Me

WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE AND A WORLD TO SEE

Whether I am going 45 minutes from home or to the other side of the Earth, travel has always been important for me.

Now I want to first establish what my personal definition of travel is.  Of course I want to go to other states, countries, continents, hell I'd leave this planet if I could... but to me, travel is going somewhere new, and refreshing.  Somewhere that breaks the monotonous same old work week schedule.

Traveling allows me to feel free.  I am somewhere new and I can do and be whatever I want, however I feel in that exact moment.  When I am surrounded by new people and sights, suddenly all of my problems are so small.  This is something I think about a lot.  Whenever life gets too crazy for me, I remind myself that this universe is infinite.  I am a speck on the Earth, the Earth is a speck in the Universe, and my problems? They are nothing.

Traveling frees you from your anxieties while also grounding you at the same time.  Whether you travel lavishly, or travel to volunteer and help others; somehow, travel will always allow you feel on top of the world.  In addition, I cannot think of a better way to get to know myself! We learn whats important, what we miss, and what we enjoy.  We see how others live, and how fortunate we are.  We become educated through these experiences.

It is hard to make the time and money to get away, but we must prioritize ourselves.  If traveling makes you happy try a saving plan, like saving every $5 bill that comes your way, or putting all your change in a jar.  You will not regret it!  Even if you cannot go far, once a year (at least) go some place you've never been before.
